Job description: Account Manager, Group BenefitsOur client is searching for an Account Manager, Group Benefits. This role will be responsible for maintaining relationships with new and existing clients, providing information and guidance on all aspects of group benefits plan design, implementation and ongoing support. A successful candidate will provide excellent customer service to all clients. This role reports directly to the Head of Group Benefits.Your success will be defined by your ability to:
- Meet with current and prospective clients to obtain employee benefit data, plan, design, employee census data, cost-sharing arrangements, premium/rate structure, historical premiums, claims and experience data
- Review and analyze plan designs, providing comments, recommendations and advice
- Design customized employee benefit plans for organizations while being cognizant of budget restraints
- Compile and summarize information for submission to the underwriting team
- Assist in presenting employee benefit proposals to current and prospective clients to solicit their business
- Draft employee communications and coordinate with clients
- Coordinate employee enrollment with client human resources staff
- Answering general employee benefits queries from all clients
- Assist clients with employee claims or claims management issues
- Build and establish relationships within the team and external partners
- Support sales and business development team in selling and quoting new business
- Support client management team as required
- Other duties as assigned
Your strengths include:
- 3+ years of related experience with in-depth knowledge of group benefit products, financial mechanisms as well as applicable legislation across Canada
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration or equivalent experience is considered an asset
- Life and Accident and Sickness licensed considered as an asset; Licensing within 6 months of starting may be a requirement depending on duties confirmed
- Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation or Group Benefits Association (GBA) is considered an asset
- Experience with a brokerage, consulting, and carrier environment considered a strong asset
- Proficiency in MS Office products with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Fluent in English with proven competencies in verbal and written communication is required
- Fluent in French with proven competencies in verbal and written communication is an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Clean driving record and valid class 5 license
- Ability to travel on occasion out of town or some overnight travel
