Job description: Job DescriptionWere seeking a self-motivated Accountant with entrepreneurial drive to join our client in Dartmouth, NS. Working closely with the CFO, the successful candidate will have ownership of a variety of accounting responsibilities that provide valuable financial information to the leadership team and play a key role in the companys operations to prepare for growth and future investments. This is a permanent opportunity.Key Responsibilities for the Job:
- Manage all bookkeeping duties, including administering biweekly payroll and employee benefits
- Bank reconciliations
- Journal entries
- Financial reporting
- Cash flow management
- Budgeting and forecasting
- HST return filing
- Coordinate and oversee claims for government funding programs
- Identify new funding opportunities
- Collaborate with management to create financial models
Experience & Attributes for Success:
- Post-secondary education in accounting or related field
- 5 years+ progressive, full cycle accounting experience
- High level proficiency with accounting software, ideally with QuickBooks, Sage, and/or Xero and MS Excel
- Ability to adapt and thrive in an entrepreneurial or start-up environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Uphold a high level of integrity and ethical standards
