Job description: Job Description:We are offering an opportunity for an Accountant to join our team in the Manufacturing industry located in Stoney Creek, Ontario. This role focuses on managing and analyzing financial data, preparing and reconciling financial statements, and assisting in various accounting functions.Responsibilities:

• Manage the preparation and posting of monthly and ad-hoc journal entries.

• Conduct reconciliation of bank and credit card transactions.

• Handle the reconciliation of general ledger accounts monthly and analyze variances to ensure account accuracy.

• Maintain fixed assets records, record additions and disposals, and calculate monthly amortization.

• Assist in the reconciliation of intercompany accounts.

• Prepare detailed weekly and monthly financial reporting of sales, material, labour, variable overhead, and freight and provide analysis.

• Participate in annual audits by preparing supporting schedules and analysis as needed.

• Assist in tax filings, including monthly HST return.

• Support accounts payable processes, including capital and tooling.

• Collaborate with plant staff to review reporting and analysis to drive actions for improvement.

• Analyze accounts, inventory, production data, sales, costs, and variances as required.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in the Plastics Manufacturing industry

• Proficiency in Dynamics NAV and other ERP Solutions

• Demonstrated ability to perform Account Analysis and manage Accounting Entries

• Extensive knowledge of Accounting Functions, including Account Reconciliation and Accounts Payable (AP)

• Experience with Month End Close, Month-end Close Activities, and Month-end Journal Entries

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required

Expected salary: $60000 – 75000 per year
