Additionally, after one year of employment, you have access to our tuition reimbursement program.Summing it upUnder the leadership of the Accounting Manager, you will assist with daily accounting tasks, ensuring smooth financial operations and precise record-keeping.What you’ll be doing

  • Handle month-end activities, including account adjustments, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, variance analysis (vs. budget and prior year), accruals, and reporting for multiple entities.
  • Calculate, post, record, and verify financial data to maintain accurate accounting records.
  • Assist with multiple subsidiaries’ financials, ensuring alignment with overall corporate strategy and objectives.
  • Reconcile and monitor all assigned balance sheet accounts in accordance with policy.
  • Enforce accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance across departments and subsidiaries, while holding teams accountable for financial accuracy.
  • Assist with maintaining and adhering to the annual budget.
  • Collaborate with departments to review procedures and recommend process improvements.
  • Oversee banking transactions and revenue processes for the resorts, proactively resolving any issues.
  • Administer and manage agreements, rental/tenant contracts, and related financial obligations.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and other departments.
  • Assist the finance leadership team with ad hoc projects and requests as needed.

Who you are

  • Experience: 1-2 years in hotel accounting.
  • Education: Diploma or bachelor’s in accounting; CPA program enrollment or current CPA student preferred.
  • Skills: Self-motivated, analytical, confidential, organized, and flexible.
  • Software Proficiency: QuickBooks Desktop, Oracle NetSuite, Rippling (or similar HRIS software), Hotel/ Resorts PMS (Property Management Systems), intermediate skill in Excel and Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Additional Experience: Software implementation, Strata-titled properties or property management companies.
  • Other Requirements: Valid Class 5 driver’s license or reliable transportation to downtown Calgary.

Expected salary: $50000 – 55000 per year
