You will actively participate in projects and initiatives within developing markets contained in a number of our growth areas as well as our expansion into an exciting emerging business.Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish togetherAs an Accountant, you will be an integral part of the Accounting team. You will be leveraging your accounting knowledge and professional experiences to achieve financial reporting completeness and accuracy, as well as have a vision for continued improvement. You will focus on core areas of the financial statements including but not limited to accruals, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, amongst others. You will partner with internal stakeholders, across the organization and internationally in the completion of your tasks.Here’s HowBe a trusted advisor to the TELUS Agriculture & Consumer Goods team

• Analyze results and contracts to ensure accurate revenue recognition, pinpoint monthly risks and opportunities, and identify potential variances to forecast
• Provide insightful decision support to help drive profitable growth and expansion, and to ensure alignment with the overall corporate priorities
• Partner with primes and key stakeholders to prepare executive level summary reports and presentations to support decision making
• Ability to develop, review, and recommend complex/high risk transactions
• Identify trends and make recommendations for improvements to forecasts and budget processes
• Support ad-hoc financial and operational analysis as required

Responsibilities:

• Prepare journal entries
• Reconcile assigned accounts
• Month end reports and analysis
• Variance resolution
• Assist with special projects
• Provide data to the finance team and support budgeting and forecasting as needed
• Work cross-functionally within other groups in the accounting team globally, coupled with different operational groups across the company including but not limited to FP&A, sales, shared service functions, etc.

Required:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in an accountant role
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, preferably working towards a designation
• Experience working with Microsoft office specifically Excel pivot tables and v-look ups

Preferred:

• Excellent communication
• Analytical skills
• SAP S4 Hana or similar ERP experience
• Experience doing accruals including identification and split of OpEx and COGs.
