You will further develop financial skills through challenging individual and team assignments by providing financial support to various companies and departments within the ATCO Group. Incumbents will be responsible for providing financial and economic analysis to support financial decisions; preparing a variety of financial and accounting reports; participating in financial planning; and reviewing financial reporting information. The incumbent will also work directly with internal and external clients concerning financial and regulatory matters; and prepare financial information and analysis required by the company at public hearings.We’re looking for someone who cares about their work and strives for more each day. - Provide capital accounting support throughout the project lifecycle including project capitalizations
- Work with project management and engineering to prepare monthly capital forecasts and variance reporting
- Prepare monthly Journal Entries including project accruals
- Develop, prepare, document, and oversee monitoring reports and adherence to project controls
- Assist in the completion of annual business plan material
- Interact with multiple levels of the organization
- Thrive in a complex regulatory environment
- Leverage leading edge financial applications (Oracle Cloud, SmartView)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Finance or Accounting
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in accounting or related financial based training/experience in project management
- A Canadian professional accounting designation (CPA)
- Ability to develop relationships required to co-ordinate information from other work
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively plan and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines and resolve conflicting priorities
- Experience in a regulatory environment and with Oracle software will be considered an asset
- Project accounting experience is an asset
