Job description: Aplin is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Calgary team on a 6-month temp-to-perm basis. This role is ideal for a candidate with at least 5 years of accounting experience, a strong foundation in payroll, and a passion for contributing to a collaborative work environment.While a CPA designation is not required, we are looking for someone eager to grow and make an immediate impact.Responsibilities:
- Preparation of internal payroll using Sage 300 for approximately 100 employees.
- Month-end reconciliations and preparation of journal entries.
- Prepare monthly financial statements.
- Ensure compliance reporting for source deductions, GST/HST, PST, WCB, and EHT.
- Payroll calculations for employees in South America and other countries using Multiplier.
- US payroll submissions using ADP Run.
- Invoicing and billing tracking against client purchase orders.
- Year-end reconciliation for T4s, WCB, and EHT in multiple provinces.
- Weekly management reporting for temporary employees.
- Collect payroll documents (tax forms, EFT/Void Cheque) and enter information into the payroll system.
- Maintain employee records and issue Records of Employment (ROEs).
- Stay updated on federal and provincial employment standards.
- Issue Letters of Employment as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Controller.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
- Experience with Sage 300.
- Experience with Bullhorn One (preferred).
- Advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Experience with Multiplier for international payroll (preferred).
- Experience with ADP Run for US payroll (preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Knowledge of Canadian and US payroll tax compliance.
- Ability to adapt to changing systems and processes.
