  • Under the supervision of the Accounting Manager and within the limits of True Key Hotels & Resorts Ltd. policies and local requirements, this position assists with daily accounting tasks, ensuring smooth financial operations and precise record-keeping. This position requires a highly motivated team player with strong accounting, communication, business presentation, and analytical skills. A strong systems background is also needed.

What you’ll be doing

  • Handle month-end activities, including account adjustments, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, variance analysis (vs. budget and prior year), accruals, and reporting for multiple entities.
  • Calculate, post, record, and verify financial data to maintain accurate accounting records.
  • Assist with multiple subsidiaries’ financials, ensuring alignment with overall corporate strategy and objectives.
  • Reconcile and monitor all assigned balance sheet accounts in accordance with policy.
  • Enforce accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance across departments and subsidiaries, while holding teams accountable for financial accuracy.
  • Assist with maintaining and adhering to the annual budget.
  • Collaborate with departments to review procedures and recommend process improvements.
  • Oversee banking transactions and revenue processes for the resorts, proactively resolving any issues.
  • Administer and manage agreements, rental/tenant contracts, and related financial obligations.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and other departments.
  • Assist the finance leadership team with ad hoc projects and requests as needed.

Who you are

  • Experience: 1-2 years in hotel accounting.
  • Education: Diploma or bachelor’s in accounting; CPA program enrollment or current CPA student preferred.
  • Skills: Self-motivated, analytical, confidential, organized, and flexible.
  • Software Proficiency: Oracle NetSuite, Rippling (or similar HRIS software), QuickBooks Desktop, Hotel/Resorts PMS & POS (Property Management & Point of Sales Systems), intermediate skill in Excel and Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Additional Experience: Software implementation, Strata-titled properties or property management companies.
  • Other Requirements: Valid Class 5 driver’s license or reliable transportation to downtown Calgary.
