Role Purpose:Responsible for the day-to-day accounting and overall record keeping for multiple family-owned entities and joint ventures and includes the provision of financial, transactional and administrative services to family members and related holding companies. This position also supports the Treasury and Tax function of the main operating company.Major Responsibilities and Activities:
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and maintain accounting records
- Perform full cycle bookkeeping and related record keeping including reconciliation of investments, maintenance of loan grids, reconciling intercompany balances, and invoice issuance
- Support bill payment and revenue collection function including invoice tracking, invoice issuance and managing tax installments
- Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements and other financial reports
- Prepare and file HST returns
- Support the tax return preparation and planning by an external accounting firm by coordinating the provision of information
- Preparation of simple Canadan tax returns (T2 and T3010)
- Support banking and KYC disclosure requirements
- Ad-hoc finance and tax support for investments and operating company
Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary education in Accounting
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in an accounting/bookkeeping role
- Proficient using Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
- Tax return preparation experience a plus

- Must be able to maintain absolute confidentiality regarding discussions, records, files, documents and information
- Organized, analytical and conscientious of quality of work
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Self-motivated, able to work independently
