Job description: About the Opportunity

• Perform month-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting entries and records.
• Collaborate closely with the financial reporting team to support the 5-day close process.
• Participate in upcoming projects, including data migration, process re-engineering, and documentation.
• Work closely with NetSuite project team and IT department to streamline accounting processes and systems.
• Utilize advances to intermediate Excel skills for data analysis, reporting, and financial modeling.
• Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
• Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations based on findings.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of industry best practices, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
• Actively contribute to the team’s success and foster a collaborative work environment.
• Take on additional responsibilities and projects based on business needs.

About You

• Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, college diploma or equivalent certification is preferred
• CPA or relevant professional certification is a plus
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably with exposure to month-end close processes.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
• Advanced to intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, data analysis, pivot tables and financial modeling.
• Experience with NetSuite or other ERP system is highly desirable.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges.
• Proactive and self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
