Job description: Job Description:For this search, Robert Half is partnered with a growing client in the construction industry looking for an Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. The Accountant is responsible for full-cycle A/P and A/R and quarterly operating expense reporting. As an Accountant, they will act as a supervisor to the Bookkeeper and Real Estate Specialist and provide assistance to the Corporate Accounting Managers with the quarterly and annual financial reportingResponsibilities:
- Full-cycle A/P and A/R including preparing journal entries, reconciliations for month-end processes, and AR invoices
- Processing weekly/bi-weekly vendor payments via bank and wire transfers, EFTs and Cheques
- Preparing monthly bank reconciliations
- Preparing HST returns, registration and deregistration for the Corporate Accounting department
- Administering the filing and payments of the monthly HST for Corporate Accounting, Asset Management and Family Office departments
- Preparing year-end financial statement working papers and corporate income tax returns, assisting Corporate Accounting Managers with external audit requests
- Preparing and distributing monthly AR invoices on a timely basis and assisting in the timely collection of accounts receivable
- Preparing and analyzing quarterly operating budget versus actual reports, including calculating variances to budget
- Overseeing employee expense report processing on SAP Concur, ensuring compliance with company policies
- Supervising Bookkeeper and Real Estate Specialist
- Assisting with the preparation of IRR calculation and tax compliance requirements
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of full-cycle Accounts Receivable, Payable and general accounting experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Experience of working in a paperless environment
- Accurately complete tasks in a timely fashion, ability to meet deadlines
Expected salary: $65000 – 70000 per year
