Job description: Job Description:As the Accountant you will perform full cycle accounting duties for a portfolio of real estate assets in the U.S. and Canada, Holdings Inc, and family trusts. Additionally, you will be responsible for;
- Monitoring cash flow for all the corporate bank accounts
- Prepare and file quarterly GST/ HST returns within CRA deadlines, administer payments to and refunds from CRA, assist with CRA audits/reviews, maintain electronic filing of all CRA correspondence and documentation and supporting files
- Prepare and file annual reports for US entities and various US tax obligations
- -Prepare and file personal tax returns for the family
- -Manage all aspects of payroll including bi-weekly payroll and payroll remittances, file and pay the Ontario employer health tax and WSIB for employees, file T4 and ROE for employees
- Pay property taxes and insurance for all the properties, bill tenants for property taxes and insurance payments, liaise with tenants for discrepancies in rent payments and reconciliations
- Other roles and duties as may be reasonably assigned or requested by the President and CFO

- Extensive experience with QuickBooks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to anticipate problems and solve proactively
- Good knowledge of tax (US and Canada)
- Highly productive, independent, and resourceful
- Must have a strong commitment to quality
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
- Solid understanding of business professionalism
- Organizational skills for prioritizing demands and workflow
- Family office experience (preferred) As an Accountant, your experience and qualifications will include:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and minimum 3 years of Canadian real estate accounting or corporate accounting working experience
- Previous experience with QuickBooks will be considered an asset
- Ability to systematically manage a challenging workload and meet stringent deadlines
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills with the ability to create and maintain automated reports
- You are legally eligible to work in Canada for any employer
