Offering a stunning office in the east of Ottawa, our client is offering on site training, and flexibility once you are adjusted.We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join this premium professional services firm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing full-cycle accounting processes, preparing accurate financial statements, and handling tax return filings for a diverse clientele. This role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients, team members and independently.Key Responsibilities:Full-Cycle Accounting:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of the accounting cycle, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing processes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for clients across different industries
- Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, payment processing, and collections.
Financial Statements:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other reports as needed.
- Collaborate with clients to provide insights and recommendations based on financial performance.
Tax Returns:
- Prepare and file tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and deadlines, staying current on tax law changes.
Client Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as their primary point of contact for accounting and tax-related matters.
- Provide clients with timely and accurate financial information and advice.
- Address client inquiries and concerns promptly, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction
The ideal candidate values mentorship and collaboration and is eager to work on-site to benefit from an amazing team environment. Working out of our beautiful Orleans office, the candidate should have over 3 years of experience with full-cycle accounting, including financial statement preparation and completion of tax returns. Proficiency in QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop is essential, along with exceptional Excel skills. Attention to detail and high accuracy are critical in this role, as is the ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple clients effectively. Strong follow-through with clients is a must, and the candidate should be a proven logical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills, confidence in providing advice, and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with clients, can articulate the story behind the numbers, and thrives on working with entrepreneurs and business owners, feeling impactful by helping them drive their business forward.What will make you stand out:
