Job description: About the Opportunity

  • Process monthly payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with HR department to ensure accurate employee data and compliance with payroll policies
  • Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate and resolve any discrepancies
  • Assist in month-end closing procedures, including preparing journal entries and financial statements
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions
  • Provide support during audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries
  • Stay informed about changes in payroll and accounting regulations and ensure compliance with relevant laws and standards
  • Assist with ad hoc financial projects and tasks as required
  • Provide assistance to Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) departments when required, including invoice processing, vendor payment, and student billing/collection
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate risks
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and effectiveness within the finance department
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in accounting and payroll software

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA candidate is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in payroll processing and general accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Excel. (pivot tables, vlookups)
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations and tax laws.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across departments.
  • Discretion and integrity when dealing with sensitive and confidential information.

Salary Range
