- Prepare regular monthly and ad-hoc journal entries for responsible business units
- Assist in the preparation of consolidated and non-consolidated internal and external financial statements
- Reconcile complex balance sheet accounts (e.g. high volume, routine transactions or low volume, non-routine transactions) and investigate discrepancies
- Assist in reviewing significant variances from budget to actual
- Prepare and file regulatory reporting requirements, as necessary
- Assist in certain special projects as part of the Company’s continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist with technical accounting research
- Perform monthly and ad-hoc reports and analysis for finance and other departments
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (i.e. Accounting)
- Pursuing CPA designation (typically has passed CPA exams and acquiring work experience component)
- 3-5 years of significant accounting experience
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel
- Strong understanding of accounting systems
- Experience with SAP an asset
- Detail-oriented approach with demonstrated analytical skills
- Assertive self-starter with the ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision
- Excellent organizational skills, and ability to work under pressure and meet multiple tight deadlines
