Job description: Job Description:We are looking for a detail-oriented Entry-Level Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Brantford, Ontario. In this role, you will contribute to a variety of accounting functions, including accounts payable, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. • Manage accounts payable processes, including three-way purchase order matching and coding invoices accurately.
• Reconcile balance sheets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
• Assist with general accounting tasks, such as journal entries and maintaining the general ledger.
• Handle transactions in multiple currencies and ensure compliance with international financial standards.
• Collaborate with inventory teams to support accounting processes related to stock and materials.
• Work efficiently to meet strict month-end deadlines, including a two-day accounts payable close.
• Utilize ERP systems and accounting software to streamline financial operations.
• Support financial reporting by preparing accurate reconciliations and summaries.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance workflow and accuracy.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to resolve accounting issues.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on accounts payable and reconciliations.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and accounting software, with the ability to quickly adapt to new tools.
• Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills to handle competing deadlines.
• Experience working with multi-currency transactions and in a multi-national company environment.
• Solid understanding of general accounting principles and practices.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data analysis.
• Excellent communication skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Familiarity with inventory accounting processes is considered an asset.

Expected salary: $25 – 28 per hour
