Job description: Robert Half is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Accountant to join our client’s team in Hamilton. This role is ideal for candidates with solid full-cycle accounting experience looking to advance their careers in a dynamic environment.Responsibilities:

• Oversee the month-end closing process, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely to facilitate financial reporting.
• Prepare and post journal entries for various transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and accuracy in financial records.
• Support various accounting functions, including maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audits, and preparing financial analysis as needed.
• Conduct bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial data and identify discrepancies in the accounting records.
• Review and validate invoices for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Manage check runs and ensure all payments are processed in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions and assist with vendor inquiries.
• Monitor customer accounts and manage collections to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices.
• Prepare and send invoices to clients, ensuring accuracy in billing.
• Assist in reconciling customer accounts and resolving discrepancies in payments.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports, providing accurate data for management decision-making.

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of solid full-cycle accounting experience is required.
• Proficiency with month-end closing processes and financial reporting is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with advanced functions is a plus.
• Experience with large ERP systems is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A collaborative individual who is both a team player and capable of working independently.
