This financial stability ensures the continuation of their mission to provide long-term care and support to adults with Acquired Brain Injury.The role of Accountant / Finance Manager will support the Executive Director in overseeing all financial aspects of the organization, ensuring financial health, compliance, and sustainability. This role includes managing daily accounting tasks, financial planning, budgeting, and reporting. Joining a team that is passionate about making a positive impact in our community, we are looking for an experienced Accountant / Finance Manager to help their organization and manage their financial operations effectively.Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management â manage corporate cash flow by overseeing all accounts payable, receivable, general ledger accounting and payroll.
- Budgeting and Forecasting â work with the ED to prepare and manage the annual budget and monitor performance of budget versus actuals. Provide detailed forecasting models for stakeholder and decision support.
- Financial Reporting â prepare timely and accurate financial statements, income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements. Provide stakeholders and ED with annual financial reports.
- Audit and Compliance â work with external auditors to complete the annual audit process and ensure all tax filings are on time and compliant with the external audit firm.
- Team Collaboration â work with the ED and program managers to provide financial guidance and support through analysis and detailed communication
- Strategic Leadership â provide stakeholders with oversight of financial systems, processes & reporting, and areas for improvement. Train and supervise the payroll clerk
The ideal candidate will hold a University Degree in Accounting/Business/Finance and/or equivalent program. You will possess a minimum of 5 years of accounting or finance experience, including any experience with a non-profit, charity or healthcare would be preferred. Advanced knowledge and skills with integrated business and accounting systems, financial analysis, data collection, data entry, report design, and internal controls is expected.Additionally, the candidate must be able to communicate financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders. Your strong ability to work well within a team amidst a sensitive environment, will be required. We are looking for someone with a tremendous work ethic and desire to take on a leadership role within a smaller but impactful team.
