Job description: Accountant- Onsite Position- Defense ManufacturingWe have a great opportunity for an Accountant at our world class facility in Ottawa, ON.As our Accountant, you will be providing support to the Manager of Accounting in the areas of Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable and General Accounting for the CW Defense Solutions Division.Location: Ottawa, ONWe Take Care of Our PeoplePaid Time Off I RRSP with Employer Match I Health and Wellness Benefits I Learning and Development Opportunities I Competitive Pay I Referral Program I Recognition I I *Your Challenge:Customer/Vendor master reviews/approvalsCWDS Customer/Vendor master data reviews including credit block/holdsCustomer invoice cancellation request processingVendor balance/discrepancy inquiries/reviews including resolutionAP payment proposal review & approvalMonth end activities including JV preparations, account reconciliations, AP accrual review, etc.Capital Equipment tracking, reporting and audit coordinationLiaison between BU finance, corporate finance and other BU functionsInvolved in annual business planning/budgeting processes for specific BU cost centersPayroll record reconciliation between Workday and ERP systemPayroll related reporting for corporateResponsible for other various corporate reporting schedules related to job functions (monthly/quarterly)Various general accounting functionsAd hoc requestsWhat You Bring:Thorough understanding of general accounting principles and practicesExperience in Account Receivables/Accounts PayablesMust be able to work with Excel/Word, PowerPoint, and Teams/OutlookExcellent communication skills (oral and written)Able to work effectively individually and as part of a cross functional, international teamAbility to develop and write proceduresAbility to identify, analyze, and resolve accounting discrepanciesExcellent analytical skills to collect data, understand significance, explain issues and recommend solutionsExcellent technical ability, including ability to work with integrated ERP systems preferableSAP expertiseHas understanding of and commitment to ethical practices in accountingExamines assigned accounting documents to verify accuracy of computations and uniform application of policies, procedures, and acceptable accounting standardsReviews and verifies accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various recordsPrepares income and balance sheet statements, consolidated statements, and other accounting statements and reportsReviews, coordinates, and provides documentation to support various internal and external audit requirementsPerforms statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, and writes narrative reports explaining findingsMay design, modify, install, and/or maintain general accounting systems to provide records of assets, liabilities, and financial statementsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCEA post-secondary diploma/degree from a college or university in Accounting and or Business2-4 years of related experience preferably in a manufacturing or high technology environmentWho We Are:Curtiss-Wright’s Defense Solution division is a trusted, proven leader, delivering superior products and services that meet the defense and aerospace industries’ toughest challenges with best-in-class value.
