Job description: Job Description:Our client is seeking a Contract Accountant & Payroll to support their multi-entity retail operation. This role is a blend of payroll processing, account reconciliations, and month/year-end close support.Key Responsibilities:
- Process semi-monthly payroll (hourly, salaried, commission, piecework)
- Ensure compliance with payroll legislation and perform payroll reconciliations
- Support month-end and year-end close, including inventory and work in process entries
- Reconcile accounts, assist with remittances (GST, etc.)
- Oversee performance of AP/AR teams (not data entry)
- Prepare reports and analysis for leadership
- Ad-hoc duties as requested
Requirements:What We’re Looking For:
- Payroll experience with complex pay structures
- Retail or dealership-type environment experience
- Strong understanding of month-end/year-end processes
- Familiarity with Clarity (Paymate/Payworks) or PBS Systems a plus
- Available to start immediately
