This important role will provide comprehensive support across general accounting, payroll processing, and data analytics, while also supporting benefits and pension administration. The Analyst will stretch across multiple accounting functions, including general accounting, and ensuring seamless integration between payroll systems and financial reporting.The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience with ADP payroll systems and a proven ability to excel in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex tasks effectively will be essential for success in this position.Key Responsibilities:General Accounting Support:Assist with day-to-day accounting tasks, including processing invoices and reconciling accounts.Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with accounting standards and company policies.Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.Ensure accuracy in financial reporting and documentation.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting discrepancies.Utilize accounting software to track and manage financial transactions.Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to tasks.Payroll Administration:Manage end-to-end payroll processing using ADP, ensuring timely and accurate payroll for all employees.Analyze payroll data for accuracy, discrepancies, and compliance with federal and provincial regulations.Administer pension plans, ensuring accurate contributions, compliance, and reporting.Prepare and distribute year-end payroll documents, including T4s and other necessary tax forms.Respond to team member inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and pension-related issues.Data Analysis:Utilize data analytics tools and AI-powered solutions to track and analyze vacation, overtime, and leave data for trends and anomalies.Leverage MS Suite dashboards and data visualization tools to provide real-time insights into team member attendance, leave balances, and overtime usage.Monitor and report on patterns in vacation and leave utilization, personal spending account trends, benefit utilization trends – identifying areas for optimization and cost-saving opportunities.Apply predictive analytics to forecast future leave trends, helping with workforce planning and resource allocation.Continuously refine data analysis processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with organizational goals.Benefits / Pension Program Administration:Oversee the administration of team member benefits programs, including team member onboarding with respect to benefit plan, pension plan, and annual personal spending account management and reconciliation.Ensure compliance with benefits-related regulations and manage open enrollment processes.Prepare annual disclosure information as relevant.Process Improvement:Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the general accounting function to enhance efficiency and accuracy.Optimize current accounting software tools and technologies to streamline workflows and reduce manual tasks.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and integrate automated solutions that support faster closing cycles and error reduction.Continuously monitor and evaluate process performance, making recommendations for ongoing improvements in accounting operations.Collaboration:Work closely with People and Culture as well as the Finance team to ensure alignment and support for organizational goals.Provide training and support to team members on payroll, benefits, and pension-related topics and software tools.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.5+ years of experience in payroll processing, benefits administration, and data analysis, with a strong understanding of payroll and benefits regulations.Experience in full cycle accounting and accounts payableExpert user of Excel with advanced functions and data analysis capabilities.Proficient in ADP payroll software; experience with other payroll systems is a plus.Knowledge of pension plan administration and compliance.High degree of curiosity and some experience using A.I. tools to assist with data review and analysis.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Ability to thrive in a high-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Preferred Qualifications:Certification in payroll or benefits administration (e.g., CPP, CPM).Experience with Microsoft Dynamics.*We kindly thank our trusted agency partners, at this time we do not require assistance with this recruit.
