Job description: Working together to provide outstanding integrated health care to our communities delivering best patient outcomes with exemplary standards and compassion, Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) is a multi-site organization that includes Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Site and South Muskoka Memorial Hospital Site.ROLEAs an Accounting Clerk at Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare you will;

  • Generate and issue invoices accurately and in accordance with services rendered
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of all sales transactions
  • Payment Processing
  • Receive, record and apply customer payments to appropriate accounts.
  • Monitor and analyze accounts receivable aging reports to identify delinquent accounts and take appropriate action.
  • Coordination of Coverage
  • Process claims with varying insurance payors such as OHIP, private health insurance, WSIB
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date cash application in the accounting system
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to accounts payable and receivable as required
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION(S)

  • 3-year Community college diploma, preferably in accounting or business

REQUIRED SKILL(S) & EXPERIENCE(S)

  • 2 years recent & related accounting experience in a computerized health care environment
  • Experience accounts receivable
  • Experience with MIS
  • Experience with Great Plains accounts payable an asset
