It is the first LRT extension project using low-floor vehicle technology in Western Canada and will be a landmark LRT endeavour. Marigold Infrastructure Partners (MIP) is the Joint Venture group awarded design and build contract to deliver this portion of the ELVW.STUDENT OPPORTUNITY: 4-month term, commencing January 2025, located in Edmonton, Alberta
The Finance team is looking for a student to provide support to the MIP Finance/Accounting team in for the EVLW LRT. The duties will be varied and will focus on tasks/activities required to meet our compliance obligations. Specific responsibilities listed below.HOURS OF WORK: Our business hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional overtime may be required.Key Responsibilities:
- Scanning or uploading invoices into OnBase for processing
- Communicating with subcontractors or vendors
- Processing non-PO and PO invoices in JDE
- Assisting with vendor account creation in OnBase
- Reviewing and monitoring various Accounts Payable queues in OnBase
- Administration of accounts payable Outlook inbox
- Coordinating with Procurement team on purchase order requisitions and receipts
- Completing stop payment requests and submitting to Accounting Assistant for processing
- Communicating with Senior Accountants on accounts payable issues that arise
- Other accounts payable related projects assigned by Corporate Controller and/or VP Finance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Ability to work will in a fast paced, collaborative, and team-based environment
- Adaptability to a changing work environment
Required Knowledge and Experience
- Currently enrolled in a university or technical college diploma in a Business, Accounting or Finance Degree
- Experience in the construction industry is a strong asset.
- Strong interpersonal, communication (both oral and written) skills.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task/ Service orientated.
- Thrive on a fast-paced environment.
- Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines.
