Westerner park is currently seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team.The Accounting Manager is critical to maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of the organization’s financial operations. This role oversees the full scope of accounting functions, ensuring timely and precise execution of tasks while adhering to legal regulations and organizational standards. The Accounting Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining accounting procedures, practices, and principles, as well as managing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department.This position leads a team of full-time staff and coordinates the activities of several causal, event-based employees.Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and Cash Office
- Oversee daily operations of AR, AP, and Cash Office ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational policies.
- Manage collections and resolve outstanding receivables in collaboration with others.
- Monitor vendor payments and address discrepancies promptly.
- Ensure efficient and accurate cash handling processes.
- Manage the cash office, ensuring secure cash handling, reconciliations, and accurate reporting for events.
Payroll Administration
- Oversee and ensure accurate and timely completion of payroll processing for all employees.
- Verify payroll entries, including wages, taxes, benefit, deductions, and adjustments.
- Ensure payroll compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with HR to maintain accurate employee data and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Prepare and submit payroll related statutory reports.
- Conduct audits of payroll processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
General Accounting
- Daily Operations
- Record and classify accounting transactions.
- Maintain accurate general ledger accounts
- Monitor cash flows and bank balances.
- Reconciliation
- Perform bank and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Reconcile credit card and petty cash transactions.
- Month End and Year End
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Generate financial statements and conduct variance analysis.
Financial Analysis and Reporting
- Provide detailed analysis of financial data to support decision making.
- Monitor key performance indicators and prepare financial reports for leadership.
- Coordinate budgeting and forecasting processes.
Audit and Compliance
- Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and explanations.
- Ensure adherence to financial controls, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain compliance with applicable account standards and regulations.
- Maintain organized financial and accounting records and ensure compliance.
- Support process improvements and strategic initiatives.
Administration and Leadership
- Respond to inquires from Senior Management
- Training and advise new and existing employees on accounting systems and reports
- Monitor and analyze the accounting department to develop more efficient procedures and proper use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Handle personnel issues relating to absenteeism, staff performance, and team cohesion.
- Working with direct reports to determine objectives and goals and enhance staff professional development.

Here is what you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field- combination of education and experience is also accepted.
- Minimum five years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles
- Minimum two years of supervisory or leadership capacity, managing AR and/or AP functions.
- Experience with month end closing, financial reporting, and bank reconciliations.
- Background in nonprofit or hospitality industry is an asset but not required.
- Proficient in accounting software
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to manage sensitive financial information with discretion and confidentiality.
- Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail
