Job description: Description :At SMS Equipment, our Accounts Receivable (Credit Administrator) is responsible for monitoring and collecting accounts receivable, investigating credit requests, and processing customer payments. If you have at least three years of credit experience, strong customer service skills, and a keen eye for detail, this is your chance to thrive in a dynamic and supportive environment!This role is based in Acheson, AB and offers a hybrid schedule with one remote workday per week.The salary range for this role is $50,000 – $60,000.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Review accounts receivable reports to identify overdue amounts.
  • Contact customers on late payments and liaise with the appropriate branches to handle any disputes.
  • Report any issues or accounts that exceed value limits to the Credit Manager.
  • Prepare month-end dispute reports to relevant branches.
  • Reconcile accounts related to short payments.
  • Processing credit card payments from customers.
  • Provide back up support to the Credit Assistant for daily credit card reconciliation submissions.
  • Complete credit investigations for new and/or increased credit limits.
  • Set credit limits using eXtend.
  • Complete credit application process by running required external reports and evaluating credit references.
  • Escalate credit denials to the Credit Manager for review.
  • Provide override within predetermined limits to release orders for processing.
  • Follow up with branches on any problem accounts.
  • Assist Sales and Accounting team on projects as assigned.

Qualifications:The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years previous credit experience. Additional requirements include:

  • Strong customer service skills, with experience interacting with both internal and external customers to ensure high satisfaction and resolve issues promptly.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in assessing credit risk and resolving discrepancies.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, collaborating with others.
  • Familiarity with credit practices and procedures and a solid understanding of how to apply them in day-to-day tasks.
  • Knowledge of legal requirements pertaining to credit.
  • Excellent computer skills to include the use of Microsoft Office and internal systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment with deadlines and a busy schedule.
  • Equipment Distribution experience is an asset.
  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset.
