Job description: Job Description:Job SummaryThis position is responsible for assisting our Credit and Collections department to help process, track, and record payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be required to review account information, correct discrepancies, and ensure that accounts are properly billed and that payments are collected. The ideal candidate should be a skilled and thorough researcher with excellent communication and record-keeping skills. Exceptional time management and communication skills are critical as the ideal candidate must be able to multi-task, learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of accounts of the OSCO Construction Group of Companies
• Minimize bad debt and delinquent accounts by effective telephone collections
• Recognize problems and reconcile customer accounts
• Report issues and delinquent accounts to the Collections Manager for further escalation
• Investigate new & existing accounts for credit worthiness
• Assist in achieving departmental goals by meeting deadlines for workload completion using the most cost-effective method possible
• Represent the organization in a professional, positive manner when in contact with customers and suppliers (internal and external) and provides information in a timely manner
• Share knowledge with others to assist in promoting a better-trained workforce
• Other duties as assigned

Technical Requirements

• Minimum post-secondary education in the accounting field (university degree or community college diploma with a concentration in accounting, or equivalent)
• Previous experience in the accounting/finance field would be an asset

Business Requirements

• A high degree of accuracy with strong attention to detail is required
• Ability to work under pressure of time constraints
• Strong knowledge of MS Excel is required
• Exposure to JD Edwards One World is a definite asset

Cultural Requirements

• Effective communication skills (both written and verbal) with management and peers
• Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently
