Job description: Your Opportunity:As a Payroll Pay Assistant, you will be involved in a variety of payroll administrative support to the team and client areas. You will work in a highly independent, fast-paced and timeline driven environment to contribute to the payroll processing of 160,000+ AHS employees. Your work will include data entry and running Payroll data queries, auditing, and loading employee and pay schedules into ePeople, analysis of spreadsheets, processing several payroll forms, such as: shift redistribution forms, TD1’s, Acting Pay Forms, and banking information. In addition, you will be involved in the review of expense claims pertaining to mileage, car allowance, and processing payment requisitions via electronic banking as well as printed cheques. As the successful candidate, you will have a strong interest in Payroll operations within a unionized, multi-employer environment, and be dedicated to strong customer/client service. An understanding of payroll entries, processing, and applicable legislation is required in this position. In your work, you will respond to client/customer interactions through Service Now tickets, email communication, phone calls, and through e-Record inquiries. This position also performs time entry, including time exceptions for internal groups, and will be involved in entry-level payroll auditing for time and labor. This is a hybrid position where the incumbent is required to work out of Calgary’s Southport Office location for some date(s) during each bi-weekly pay period.Description:As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Required Qualifications:Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Additional Required Qualifications:NPI (National Payroll Institute) PCP completed certification or working towards with at least the course ‘Payroll Legislation Compliance’ completed. 1+ years of recent unionized payroll experience in a large organization. Experience processing payroll in the Province of Alberta is required. Strong computer skills and a demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Preferred Qualifications:Post-secondary education in office, business, or accounting administration is preferred. NPI (National Payroll Institute) PCP completed certification.
