Job description: Your Opportunity:This position provides high-level, professional administrative support to 3-5 academic physicians within the Department of Pediatrics, Section of Emergency Medicine. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the coordination and management of the daily activities of assigned physicians, including research, medical education, and administrative or medical leadership commitments. To function effectively in the role, the incumbent should have a comprehensive understanding of the operations of both Alberta Health Services and the University of Calgary, Cumming School of Medicine. Experience in the areas of medical education and/or research would be beneficial. The successful candidate will be proactive, self-directed, and able to work as part of a cohesive team. Sound judgment, tact, creativity, and initiative are required to balance a mix of regular, recurring tasks and larger projects or initiatives. This role is often the first point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders, and professionalism is paramount in representing the Department, Section, and Physicians. Regular hours for this position are 08:00-4:15 Mon-Fri. Current hybrid work option – 4 days/Onsite 1 day/WFH.Description:As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
Required Qualifications:Some post-secondary education. Additional Required Qualifications:Equivalent experience of 3 years at an intermediate administrative level may be considered. Attention to detail, accuracy, and time management – testing will be completed to confirm. Strong communication skills. Minimum intermediate competency in Microsoft Office (including Excel) (testing will be completed to confirm). Previous experience with calendar management, minute-taking, and creating agendas. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with appropriate tact and diplomacy. Previous experience with basic accounting and managing expenses. Preferred Qualifications:2 Years of full-time experience in an intermediate administrative capacity in a Health Care setting. 2 years of experience managing calendars, minute-taking, and creating agendas. Previous event or conference planning experience. Previous scheduling experience (health care scheduling preferred). Previous experience with Regional On-Call Applications (ROCA). U of C experience preferred.
