Job description: The PositionThe Advanced Analytics Specialist will play a critical role in championing business intelligence and data engineering projects across the organization. The role will lead the application of advanced analytics to complex business scenarios to automate data & analytics processes and facilitate data-driven decision making across the organization. The Advanced Analytics Specialist will focus on designing, delivering and supporting data and reporting solutions that impact multiple stakeholders across our organization, and drive our data infrastructure forward.Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain stored procedures in SQL and develop our data schemas. Ingest data into our data warehouse from various sources including SFTP, vendor portals, and flat files and improve on existing processes for these tasks.
  • Responsible for overall data accuracy across all data platforms (i.e. CRM systems, Data Warehouse, Patient support data, Secondary data sets and others as needed etc.) to ensure quality data for business decision making.
  • Provide specialized business performance analytics including (but not limited to): clustering methods, statistical assessments, dynamic forecasting, predicting customer value, channel mix analyses, and causal inference techniques to provide actionable recommendations for changes in customer strategies and to support the continuing digital transformation of the Human Pharma organization.
  • Understand the business and information needs of the multi-functional team and deliver concise presentations of results and reports for consumption by CXO and other departments (eg sales, marketing, medical) to guide decisions affecting the customer/product/therapeutic area strategy.
  • Research, design, test, implement, validate, and measure algorithms and libraries to analyze structured data to support analysis using advanced statistical and mathematical methods.
  • Work with multiple business partners to understand needs and leverage advanced analytics to support automation of current manual tasks (i.e. targeting, segmentation, data ingestion etc.)
  • Accountable as the OneView Canada (data warehouse) technical lead, representing Canada in global/regional projects by participating in sprint design and testing for data warehouse solutions.
  • Translate business requirements into data models and data warehousing layers on AWS to support visualization tools and Data Science projects.

This position is based in the Burlington, Ontario office located at 5180 South Service Road and is flexible.
Employees in flexible roles are required to be at the office a minimum of 50% of the time each month and must report to the office when requested and required by their Manager/Department.Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or an equivalent degree in a relevant field of study.
  • At least 3 years of experience in data engineering or data analytics
  • Experience with data models and developing data pipelines
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and modern data lake technologies (i.e. AWS, Redshift)
  • Experience using R/Python and relevant packages to read data from our many sources (SFTP, Selenium etc.) to investigate data science questions
  • High attention to detail to ensure high quality data
  • Proficiency in advanced mathematics/statistics (regressions, optimization, clustering analysis, predictive modeling, etc) and data mining
  • Ability to understand business issues and connect them to opportunities for analysis and modeling
  • Strong ability to communicate and influence effectively with all levels of the organization (verbal, written and presentation skills)
