Our client is looking for an AP/AR Manager to join their team in Spruce Grove. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the full scope of overseeing the A/P and A/R departments and staff, ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly. This role involves managing and supporting the team, while handling both strategic oversight and hands-on tasks when necessary.Your success will be defined by your ability to:

  • Oversee and supervise daily activities of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams, setting priorities and monitoring performance.
  • Ensure invoices are processed efficiently and accurately, maintaining compliance with internal policies.
  • Collaborate with the corporate finance team to assist in preparing month-end accruals and participate in month-end and year-end closings.
  • Manage escalations related to collections as necessary.
  • Provide training to new employees on expense reporting and financial procedures.
  • Resolve issues and respond to queries related to both payables and receivables.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely payments and invoicing.
  • Establish goals for team members and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Provide AR reporting to enhance cash management and support forecasting
  • Ensure the team delivers excellent customer service to both internal and external clients.
  • Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures to maintain consistency and accuracy in financial operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the department and broader organizational goals.

Your strengths include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5+ years of finance-related experience.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience, managing teams in a finance environment.
  • Previous experience with acquisitions and system implementations is an asset.
  • Strong leadership abilities and willingness to engage in both high-level strategy and hands-on tasks when necessary.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) at an intermediate level.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
