Job description: Position Summary:This is an intermediate level position, reporting to the Shared Services Finance Manager. This individual will play a vital role in ensuring timely collections, accurate cash applictions, and efficient resolution of outstanding accounts receivables. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of credit and collections procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct credit analysis for new clients to assess risk and creditworthiness.
  • Make collection calls on overdue accounts, acting as a liaison between customers and Operations to resolve disputes and maintain healthy accounts.
  • Identify and manage risk within the collections portfolio to minimize financial exposure.
  • Perform bank statement reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial records.
  • Handle cash applications and ensure timely processing of payments.
  • Process PST clearances and manage holdbacks effectively.
  • Handle credit card payments as required.
  • Maintain accurate customer records in the system, including updates on collection activities.
  • Prepare files for write-offs and follow proper procedures.
  • Generate and distribute monthly/weekly Aging Accounts Receivable reports to track overdue accounts.

Requirements:

  • 3 years of relevant experience, with strong proficiency in MS Word/Excel and a foundational understanding of accounting principles.
  • Preference for candidates with an accounting degree.
  • Demonstrated success in Accounts Receivable (AR) Collections.
  • Experience in processing high volumes of cash applications.
  • Proven expertise in bank statement reconciliations.
  • Exceptional time management skills for effective task prioritization.
  • A collaborative team player with a track record of working well across departments.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills for managing client interactions and resolving disputes effectively.
