This role involves managing financial planning, budgeting, and expense control at an automotive dealership, ensuring monthly reconciliations and reporting deadlines are met. Responsibilities include overseeing key financial functions such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll administration, and intercompany accounts. The position also requires coaching and mentoring accounting staff, liaising with head office and senior management, and completing financial analysis and reports. Ideal candidates should have a background in accounting, preferably with dealership experience, and knowledge of relevant financial software tools.What drives your day-to-day?

• Financial planning, budgeting and expense control
• Assist with annual forecasting and budgeting
• Oversee or perform tasks to ensure that financial functions are reconciled monthly including (but not limited to): cash, accounts receivables, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts payables, manufacturer statements, payroll administration, vehicle deal commissioning, intercompany accounts
• Meet all monthly, quarterly and annual deadlines as required by Head Office and the Dealer Principal/GM’s including monthly reconciliations, monthly and quarterly reporting, covenant calculations, ConSept reporting, financial analysis, year-end reporting, etc.
• Coach, mentor, lead and train accounting staff at the dealership
• Liaise with head office staff and all senior members of management
• Complete analysis or requests made by the Controller

What are the must-haves…

• 2-year accounting diploma is an asset
• Automotive dealership experience is an asset
• Knowledge of CaseWare and/or Tableau is an asset
• Completion of post-secondary education in accounting or a related field preferred
• Dealership, ADP, and/or CDK experience is an asset
• Full cycle accounting & reconciliation GL knowledge preferred
• A valid driver’s license & safe driving history is required
