Together, we represent a highly specialized team of experts who provide a full suite of financial service solutions including:

  • Advice on mergers and acquisitions, divestiture and private equity
  • Corporate banking, loan syndications and project finance
  • Equity capital, Debt capital and financial markets
  • Institutional sales and trading
  • Institutional research to leverage industry and sector insight

ATB Capital Markets is looking for an Investment Banking Analyst in our Energy, Renewables, and Infrastructure group. The team draws from a breadth and depth of experience, with insights into the complexity of the energy industry from upstream, midstream, energy services and technology, and renewables sectors. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the transaction process and development of strategic business ideas.You will join a dynamic entrepreneurial team and have the opportunity to work with clients and senior management. You will assist in the execution of M&A, Equity, and other Financing mandates and will closely work with professionals across the firm to deliver high quality advice to our clients.AccountabilitiesPrimary duties consist of, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting senior bankers on financing and M&A transactions
  • Maintaining and developing databases and spreadsheets
  • Constructing complex financial models and performing financial analysis
  • Conducting in-depth industry and company related research
  • Developing presentation materials and transaction documents

Skills, experience & requirements

  • A university degree with a focus on Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting or Engineering
  • CFA, CA, CPA, CBV will be considered an asset
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg and Factset a plus
  • Strong work ethic with an appreciation for schedule uncertainty
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to excellence
  • Team oriented with the ability to work in an open and unstructured environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Prior investment banking, corporate development, or capital markets experience is not required but is considered an asset
