The service aims to maximize benefits of scale and to pass those benefits on to developers.We are currently looking for software development engineers to lead innovation in our Amazon S3 Storage Routing and Blob Placement team and help us build next generation of highly scalable and data driven request plane systems. Cloud computing represents a fundamental shift in how businesses think about managing their information needs. While this emerging area of computing has seen tremendous growth over the past five years, we are still in the early stages of realizing its full potential. You will be able to utilize your experience in in building and mentoring engineering teams, while creating, operating and using cloud-based services.Responsibilities include: – Design, implementation, deployment and maintenance of innovative software solutions to deliver new features in performance, cost, reliability
– Use software engineering best practices to ensure the standard of quality of all team deliverables.
– Build and implement high quality distributed system software.
– Work in an agile development environment, where you are always working on the most important stuff.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS– 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
– 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
– 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
– Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering teamPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS– 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
