Our client is a reputable and well-established consulting firm in Calgary’s construction industry, known for its high-quality design work and collaborative work environment. They are seeking a Bookkeeper/Accountant to support their day-to-day financial operations and ensure accurate and timely reporting across multiple entities.Position Overview:
The Bookkeeper/Accountant will be responsible for managing full-cycle bookkeeping for the main company and two smaller affiliated entities. This role will ensure consistent financial record keeping, reporting, payroll, and coordination with external accountants for year-end processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working independently within a small, collaborative team.Key Responsibilities:

• Perform full-cycle bookkeeping for the main company and two smaller entities with limited client billing.
• Record and pay vendor invoices, generate and track receivables, manage deposits, and reconcile weekly bank and credit card statements.
• Maintain weekly financial reports including P&L, balance sheet, payables/receivables summaries, and cash flow spreadsheets.
• Prepare quarterly GST filings and coordinate payments.
• Support payroll processing, including vacation tracking, year-end vacation adjustments, and new employee setup for payroll and benefits.
• Coordinate with external accountants for year-end processes and shareholder T5s.
• Maintain organized financial records, including paper filing and initiating new fiscal year folders.
• Update financial tracking spreadsheets as directed, including quarterly project forecasting and modifications with leadership.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar accounting/bookkeeping role
• Proficiency with Account Edge or similar accounting software
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
• Strong English communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
