Position Overview:As a key member of the team, the Bookkeeping and Payroll Specialist will be responsible for collaborating with clients and the team to deliver measurable value to our clients. You’ll give clients confidence that their employees are being paid correctly, have accurate and up-to-date books and meet their reporting compliance requirements.Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining accurate books for the clients assigned to you, including posting journal entries and ensuring that accounts are accurately in balance.
  • Processing all aspects of payroll including, but not limited to, ROE’s, T4’s, PIERS, and reconciling the CRA’s payroll accounts.
  • Dealing directly with Service Canada regarding ROE’s.
  • Accurately calculating source deductions.
  • Collaborating and answering questions from clients and staff regarding payroll and Bookkeeping.
  • Completing client onboarding for new accounts.

What You’ll Bring:Experience:

  • 2 or more years of experience in a Bookkeeping and Payroll position.
  • Diploma in Bookkeeping, Accounting or Business or equivalent experience in accounting would be considered an asset.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency using accounting and payroll software (ideally Sage or Xero).
  • Strong attention to detail to delivery high quality and accurate work.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven time management skills, balancing competing priorities to deliver on time.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications including Word and Excel.
