Job description: Our client has the program responsibility for early detection of breast, cervical and colorectal cancers. A new lung screening program is being developed in collaboration with the provincial Health Authority. The development of this new screening program is in its early stages and requires some dedicated IT involvement to ensure that the program is designed in a manner that can be supported by existing applications with some modifications.Detailed Requirements:
We’re currently looking for a Business Analyst resource work under the direction of the Project Manager and working with members of other provincial agency stakeholders and the program lead for Lung Screening to complete detailed business requirements for an IT system to support the lung screening program.Reporting to the Provincial Manager, Population Health and Data Analytics, the Business Analyst will:
- Work with project team and project manager to confirm scope, requirements, stakeholder identification, task identification, resource requirements, schedule development and quality parameters
- Work with business team members, project manager, and technical team members, to identify requirements, determine gaps, and develop gap resolutions.
- Provide business analysis to understand and document data and information requirements, document current and develop future state workflows, assists in standardizing workflow processes across the organization
- Develop testing scenarios and detailed test plans
- Assist in identification of reporting requirements, report development and testing
- Monitors and reports progress to project manager
- Other duties as assigned
Travel to/from Regina and Saskatoon may be required.Qualifications:
Candidates should possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Understanding of business analysis methods, process documentation, and enterprise/business requirements development.
- Understanding of technical designs and specifications of and principles of systems and software applications.
- Knowledge of current security applications and procedures, and remote access services.
- Knowledge of associated policies, guidelines in order to ensure changes are in compliance with requirements.
- Knowledge of industry best practises and maintains currency with technology trends and internal program and system changes.
- Communication skills are required to develop and present complex information including written documentation and verbal presentations to audiences with varying levels of comprehension ability.
- Ability to comprehend complex business issues.
- Initiative and independent judgement required to solve complex problems.
- Human relations skills required to ensure compliance and promote acceptance through negotiating with staff and suppliers where there is a requirement to resolve the conflict or situation.
- Human relations skills required when meeting with vendors and staff regarding compliance and acceptance issues, such as promoting standards to enhance interoperability between stakeholders or meet certification requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in various stages of completion according to priorities.
Education, Accreditation and Work Experience:Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in computer science, business administration, engineering or health care
Accreditation:
- Professional designations such as CBAP will be considered an asset
Experience:
- 7-10 years of experience working as an IT Business Analyst
- Experience working in a highly integrated environment
- Healthcare informatics experience preferred
