Job description: Business Development Representative, ConstructionRichmond, BCAbout the client:Our client is a provider of water treatment and dewatering equipment and services to the construction industry. They can count on a team of dedicated professionals that design, install, and maintain customized systems to meet each client’s unique needs. They provide their services to owners and general contractors who are developing large commercial, institutional and residential properties as required by municipal and Erosion Control specifications.They are adding a Business Development Representative to their Richmond, BC team. The new hire will be a key player in our client’s expansion strategy, responsible for identifying and capturing new business opportunities. This role demands a proactive, high-energy individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.Responsibilities:Identify and Pursue New Business Opportunities

  • Aggressively prospect, qualify, and develop leads to build a robust pipeline of potential clients.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients by understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.

Sales Strategy Development

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets and company goals.

Presentation and Negotiation

  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to potential clients, and negotiate contracts to secure new business.

Market Research

  • Conduct market research to identify industry trends, competitor activities, and potential areas for growth.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with the project management and operations teams to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction.

Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline status. Provide regular reports to senior management on sales performance and market insights.

Qualifications:Experience

  • 5+ years of a proven track record of success in business development or sales within the construction industry.
  • Established relationships and reputation within the construction industry.

Skills

  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients.

Personality

  • Highly motivated and results oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Eager to work as part of a team to achieve a wider goal.

Knowledge

  • In-depth understanding of the construction industry, particularly in water treatment and dewatering.

Compensation:

  • $80-100k base + uncapped commission ($140-150k expected OTE on year one)
