Job description: Position: Carpenter ForepersonProject Type: BuildingsProject Location: Lower MainlandShift: DaySchedule: Monday to Friday – with the possibility of OT, which could include weekends or nightsAccommodations:Local OnlyGC: GrahamAllied Partner: Technical Workforce Inc.Reference Number: 26898We are currently recruiting for a Carpenter Foreperson to join the Buildings Team in the Lower Mainland!Shifts are 5 days on 2 days off – chance to work overtime (this may include extended hours/ weekends/ or possible afternoon & night shift) if site requiresIn the role you will be:
- Leading construction on projects and ensuring that construction goals are achieved and meet or exceed client expectations
- Producing work that results in an exceptional client experience
- Ensuring projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable building codes while maintaining high quality standards
- Working with the project team to meet milestones and completion dates according to the established project schedule
- Providing clear direction to those team members you’re leading, to ensure project targets are achieved
- Attending and providing input at project meetings and ensuring that information is transmitted to those on your team
- Assessing the target production goal, then establishing a team workflow while executing the plan to achieve it
- Supporting staff through coaching and team huddles
- Efficiently and safely using the relevant tools and equipment needed to produce the various assemblies for the project
- Supporting and maintaining healthy, happy work environments and corporate culture
- Maintaining clean, organized, and professional presentation of work sites
Requirements:
- You are a skilled Carpenter that has experience managing construction teams
- Hold a valid Journeyperson ticket.
- CSTS 2020 & WHMIS 2015
- Fall Protection (Ossa Preferred)
- You have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory/leadership role
- Civil experience an asset.
- You have an understanding of construction phases and workflow
- Experience in multiple phases of construction, from foundation work to finishing
