Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is searching for an Engineer to be based in our Edmonton, AB office. The appropriately qualified candidate will have an understanding and significant experience in civil engineering, hydraulic design and construction management principles and is very familiar with the design and construction of municipal infrastructure. They will be expected to work successfully within a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with other project team members and clients. They will have a high level of initiative, attention to detail, motivation, and display drive, energy and enthusiasm for getting things done. They will be expected to support in the delivery of infrastructure to customers mostly within the municipal water, wastewater and storm water sector.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Working knowledge of water / wastewater / drainage conveyance infrastructure in a municipal environment.
• Design of civil systems associated with municipal water and/or wastewater /drainage conveyance facilities including underground piping and stormwater management facilities.
• Conduct hydraulic assessments and calculations. Modelling software may be used depending on the application.
• Perform constructability reviews.
• Perform construction inspections.
• Lead construction contract administration.
• Prepare documentation for design projects and reports.
• Prepare construction cost estimates.
• Preparation of project specifications and contract documents.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors and clients.

Additional responsibilities will include client communication and management; assistance with proposal preparation; contract preparation and negotiation; coordination with regulatory agencies; project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
• 2+ years of related experience with civil engineering, design, construction inspection, contract administration.
• Experience with municipal water, wastewater and/or stormwater conveyance and pumping infrastructure.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite.
• Registered as P.Eng. with APEGA or eligible

Preferred Qualifications:

• Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Experience in condition assessment of municipal infrastructure is a benefit.
• Training and experience in project management is a benefit.
• Experience in proposal writing and project scoping is a benefit.
• Experience in hydraulic modelling is a benefit such as WaterCAD, SWMM, MIKE, InfoWorks
• Experience in technical report writing.
• Experience with trenchless technologies would be an asset.
