Job description: Job DescriptionCommercial Account Manager – Calgary Office (IN OFFICE)Our organization is seeking a Commercial Account Manager to join the Calgary team. This role involves working closely with Account Producers and Marketers to assess client needs and provide tailored insurance solutions. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong problem-solving skills, and demonstrates a commitment to exceptional client service.The portfolio includes significant commission income across various industries, including construction, hospitality, real estate, and oil & gas/energy.THIS IS A CALGARY BASED IN OFFICE ROLE – No option for Hybrid or RemoteKey Responsibilities:

• Maintain and enhance an existing book of business by delivering outstanding client service.
• Organize and participate in internal renewal strategy meetings.
• Attend external client meetings as required.
• Respond promptly to client inquiries via email and phone.
• Prepare essential client documents, including renewal summaries, proposals, and underwriting submissions.
• Manage monthly expiry lists and track project expirations.
• Monitor outstanding information and follow up as necessary.
• Update critical spreadsheets such as Statement of Values and Contractors Equipment lists.
• Draft correspondence and send policy documents using company templates.
• Collaborate with marketing on placements, renewals, and mid-term policy changes.
• Oversee the complete brokering process for small to mid-size policies.
• Review leases and contract documents to provide informed coverage recommendations.
• Assist clients with bid costing and advise on appropriate coverage before tender closings.
• Process certificate requests promptly and efficiently.
• Identify and recommend additional coverage using coverage checklists.
• Provide premium finance quotes and issue contracts as requested.
• Follow up on accounts receivable and ensure timely payments.
• Adhere to corporate policies and procedures.
• Maintain continuing education credits for licensing.
• Support special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Competencies:

• Licensing: Level 2 Insurance License required.
• Experience: 3-5 years of Commercial Lines experience, with construction expertise considered an asset.
• Education: CAIB, CIP, FCIP, or CRM designation preferred; post-secondary education is an asset.
• Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for accuracy.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Technical Proficiency: Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Applied Epic.
• Professionalism: A friendly demeanor with strong business acumen.
• Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Initiative & Drive: Capable of prioritizing tasks efficiently while representing the organization with confidence.
• Reliability: Strong organizational skills, punctuality, and a proven track record of attendance.
