Your Role As Commodity Accountant, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate completion of the analysis and reporting of accounting activities for the Grain division.Day to Day

  • Conducting month-end commodity profit and loss analysis, including CAD functional and USD functional commodities.
  • Communicating with grain traders on commodity results.
  • Analyze commodity expenses and freight execution costs.
  • Completing monthly accounting reconciliations.
  • Preparing and reviewing monthly reports in various systems to support business activities.
  • Assisting with external reporting.
  • Preparing manual journal entries.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, with a concentration in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation or actively working towards obtaining it.
  • Experience in commodity accounting and/or grain accounting is an asset.
  • Knowledge of hedging and future markets.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 Application Suite, specifically Excel.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational and time-management skills.
