We’re doing construction differently, and we’re thinking outside the box about how we can improve our company and our industry.Project Coordinator (Vancouver)We are looking for an experienced Assistant Project Manager (APM) to join our growing team, who will be responsible for assisting in management of a variety of projects. Do you have a strong technical knowledge, and love digging into constructability, design and problem solving? Then this would a great fit for you! This role will primarily assist a Senior PM on large scale Tenant Improvement projects with high-end design and detail. It will be a great opportunity to some of the most exciting projects in Vancouver!This role would be based out of our Surrey, BC office. This role is based at our Surrey Office, but we offer remote + flexible working arrangements. The role would also require travel to projects in Vancouver.RequirementsPersonal Characteristics:

  • Organizer- meticulous in project organization

Responsibilities:

  • Constructability + Design – main focus of this role will be to assist in submittal review, constructability review in documentation and on site. Will require strong technical knowledge of all aspects of construction.
  • Project Manager Assistance – provide support to Sr. PM, and manage aspects of the trade partners and project as needed. Can also layer into Project Management of some projects individually as well.
  • Financial Management – involved in monthly reconciliations of projects, detailed analysis of all invoicing, site progress and financial profitability and tracking against original budget.
  • Contract Management – issuing of contracts to all trade partners.
  • Project Startup – start-up documentation, requesting insurance and bonds, WCB notices, etc.
  • Project Documentation — using Timberline and Microsoft software to manage labour, materials, and equipment, cost coding, submittals, schedules, meeting minutes, change orders, etc.
  • Subtrade/Supplier Management — ability to manage trade partners and suppliers, and mitigate issues that may arise in the course of a project
  • Client Interface -attending meetings with Sr. PM, architects, consultants, and clients to manage project issues and maintain positive working relationships

Qualifications:

  • Required Post-secondary, technical education (BCIT) or similar in a construction or industry-related program – Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent.
  • Engineering or Architecture background would be an asset
  • Industry Experience – 5+ years
