Job description: Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Construction Contract Administrator with a strong background in construction and civil engineering technology to join our dynamic team at Prica Global Enterprises Inc., a leading property developer specializing in leasing, construction, and property management. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing contracts across various projects and internal departments, ensuring compliance with building codes, company policies, and legal requirements.Primary Responsibilities:Contract and Construction Management
- Draft, review, and revise contracts, including construction agreements, commercial leases, property management contracts, service agreements, procurement contracts, and non-disclosure agreements.
- Ensure all contracts comply with applicable building codes, regulations, and company policies.
- Collaborate with construction teams to identify and mitigate potential risks in contract terms related to project scope, schedule, and budget.
- Maintain proper documentation and record-keeping of all contractual agreements and site records.
- Actively engage with project managers and legal teams to ensure timely completion and review of contracts such as purchase orders, CCDC, and CCA1 agreements.
Coordination and Communication
- Partner with internal departments (e.g., legal, finance, operations, and construction) to ensure contract terms align with project schedules and business objectives.
- Serve as the primary contact for all contract-related inquiries, particularly for the construction and engineering teams.
- Implement best practices in contract management, including training staff on contract policies and procedures specific to construction projects.
Compliance and Reporting
- Maintain an organized system of both physical and digital records related to contracts and project specifications.
- Monitor contract performance and compliance, especially regarding building codes, safety standards, and other industry regulations.
- Assist project managers in working with subcontractors to ensure timely submission of schedule of values and adherence to contract terms (e.g., insurance, WSIB, and health packages).
- Actively manage contract administration tasks such as change orders, change directives, and supplemental instructions, maintaining constant communication with the site team to ensure the project remains on schedule.
Requirements:Education:
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Certifications or courses in contract administration or project management are an asset.
- Paralegal designation or certification is a bonus/preferred but not required.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in contract administration, within the construction industry preferred
- Strong understanding of building codes and construction contracts.
Skills and Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of building codes, construction terminology, and contract law.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, particularly in managing multiple contracts and tasks.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially in cross-functional teams involving construction, engineering, and legal personnel.
- Proficiency in contract management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and construction project management tools.
