Job description: Actalent Services has a 15-month contract for a Construction Electrical & Instrumentation Lead to join a large agricultural construction project in Regina, SK. This role will be on the Owners CMT (Construction Management Team). Anticipated start date is end of July 2024.Project Location: Regina, SKRotation (FIFO or Drive-in/Drive-out): 14/7LOA/Per Diem: $180/day (all days, on and off rotation)Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 8-10+ years of Electrical, Instrumentation & Control (EIC) experience on large industrial (Oil & Gas or Industrial Food Processing preferred) projects developments
  • Experience on projects from start to completion

Considered an asset:

  • Project Commissioning and Turnover experience
  • Owners Experience

Job Purpose & Scope

  • Liaison between Contractor and Engineer to resolve any engineering clash issues
  • Review of contractor workplace electrical safety program against prudent industry Practices, standards, codes and client requirements.
  • Conduct ongoing compliance observations of Contractor and lower tiered contracted company workers against established requirements under WESP.
  • Inspect and ensure proper standards/specs are being met on products/ Equipment coming on site from Vendors
  • Ensure Execution of defined Standards are being met for Electrical equipment installation (e.g. Inspections, Audits, evaluations, assessments)
  • Review / approve / Overages, Shortages, Damage Reports (OSD
  • Ensure company supplied equipment/ material arriving is what was ordered and has no damage, if not up to standard expedite suitable solution
  • Expedite information for the contractor with regards to Equipment, such as preservation requirements, drawings, tagging, hydrotest pressures,
  • Review Scope of Work and or comment/edit Change Orders as needed
  • Review and comment on Bid packages
  • Audit contractors’ equipment preservation and that it is up to owner’s standard
  • Provide input into schedule as needed by scheduler
  • Expedite material that may be missed by engineering, on hold, delayed, or needs general information to get it to site
  • Attend drawing reviews and add comments or suggestions that would improve cost and schedule from the Field construction Level.
  • Participate in model reviews and add input on constructability or modify design as needed to best suit the owner’s needs.
  • Observe and implement cost savings to owner where reasonably acceptable
  • Review and comment on Contractor FIWP – Field Installation Work Packages to improve constructability, cost and schedule savings
  • Answer Request for Information (RFI) within their area of expertise and or expedite answer from Engineering Team
  • Participate in the Company and Project HSEQ program
  • Monitor contractors’ performance and activities and submit a daily report
  • Participate in Weekly CMT safety walk.
  • Participate in Monthly DEI meeting.
  • Inspect Temp Power /Grounding / Equipment Installation Prior to Energization
  • Backfill/Excavation release witness as required on open Trenches
  • Witness and sign off on Insulation testing (megger) / Continuity Tests, ensuring accuracy and quality of test for cables and Equipment.
  • ITP final reviews and sign off for all AE&I Installations with QA
