Job description: We are currently searching for a Construction Engineer to join our Transportation Project Delivery team in our Calgary office.As the ideal candidate, you have a passion for transportation engineering, while being an excellent communicator with effective organizational skills and leadership potential, who thrives in a dynamic work environment. Your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as a representative of the company and communicating regularly with the contractor, project managers, clients, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Providing oversight of construction projects.
- Construction site monitoring and regular, part-time, or full-time inspections as required to monitor contractor’s progress, workmanship, and general conformance with the contract documents.
- Prepare clear and concise project reports, field notes, sketches, memorandums, and other project support documentation.
- Supporting and/or leading contract administration activities based on the scale of the project.
Job RequirementsWhat you will bring:
- Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
- 5+ years experience with urban roadway and/or highway construction inspection is required. Direct experience with Alberta Transportation and City of Calgary projects and specifications is preferred.
- Multi-discipline experience with infrastructure scope is preferred.
- Prior experience with a consulting firm is an asset.
- Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer with APEGA.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to think quickly.
- Committed team player and the ability to work independently.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to travel within Alberta.
