Job description: Overview:This is your opportunity to join Flatiron, an industry-leading organization at the forefront of developing critical infrastructure projects. As a Construction Engineer in our growing Canadian Division, you will design and analyze temporary works designs for our projects while ensuring constructability with contract documents, specifications and regulatory requirements. What you will be doing:

  • Provides technical input on temporary works construction designs to ensure constructability and compliance to project contract specifications.
  • Drafts design plans for temporary works (falsework, shoring, temporary bridges, formwork, slopes, etc.), ensuring completeness and accuracy with regulatory standards and within the contract specifications.
  • Designs temporary construction elements ensuring ease of constructability, cost effectiveness with materials onsite or purchased, balancing between optimization and feasibility of onsite project construction.
  • Submits designs for peer review or approval review in an accurate and timely manner to avoid construction delays on the project site. Senior engineer or manager to seal designs following approval review.
  • Maintains knowledge of Flatiron’s company values and strategic plan.
  • Support published corporate policies.
  • Perform additional assignments per management’s direction.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural or related Engineering field required.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) or Engineer Intern (EI) required.
  • Knowledge and skill in technical writing for clear and efficient communication and understanding.
  • Knowledge and understanding of constructability and construction practices.
  • Ability to multi-task and self-prioritize work.
  • Verbal, written and interpersonal skills required.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, RISA, LARSA and MathCAD are a plus.

We are an EEO/AA/ADA/Veterans employer. Salary Min: CAD $80,000.00/Yr. Salary Max: CAD $95,000.00/Yr.
