Job description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our construction projects, providing accurate cost estimates and helping to ensure financial feasibility from inception to completion.Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation: Develop comprehensive and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Project Evaluation: Assess project specifications, drawings, and other documents to understand the scope of work and identify potential cost impacts.
- Bid Preparation: Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals, ensuring all necessary documentation is included and deadlines are met.
- Market Research: Conduct market analysis to stay informed about current pricing trends for materials, labor, and other project-related costs.
- Vendor Relationships: Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotes and negotiate pricing to ensure the best possible terms.
- Cost Control: Monitor project costs and progress, comparing actual costs to estimates, and making adjustments as needed to ensure project stays within budget.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring financial stability and project success.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project requirements and budget constraints.
- Reporting: Prepare and present detailed cost reports and updates to senior management and clients, providing clear and accurate financial insights.
- Software Utilization: Utilize estimating software and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency in the estimation process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and costs.
- Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
