Job description: POSITION:CONSTRUCTION LABOURERHOUR OF WORK:FULL-TIME, PERMANENT (35 HRS/WEEK)REPORTS TO:HOUSING MANAGERWAGE RANGE:$20 – $24/hourPOSITION SUMMARY: Tsawout First Nation (TFN) Housing Department is actively seeking a qualified individual for the position of Construction Labourer. As part of our dedicated team, the Construction Labourer is responsible for providing maintenance and repairs to Tsawout First Nation. The Construction Labourer helps Tsawout community to keep their homes in good, safe conditions.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carrying materials
- Cleaning & organizing on site
- Assist other trades when required
- Light & heavy duties
- Skills & Requirements:
- Knowledge of various tools and equipment
- Ability to problem solve, prioritize tasks and work independently
- High commitment for personal safety and the safety of others
- Able to effectively communicate
- Able to work in a team environment
- Comfortable working outside in all types of weather
- Have own PPE (steel toed boots, hard hat, etc.)
- Other tasks as required
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Positive attitude
- Due diligence with safety on the worksite
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12 graduation (Dogwood or BC Adult Graduation Diploma) is preferred but not required
- Previous experience an asset, ie. Painting, carpentry, plumbing, landscaping
- Valid BC drivers license, reliable vehicle and clean drivers abstract required
- Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check is required as a condition of employment.
