  • Develop project master schedule in P6 for Underground Shaft Construction, underground mine infrastructure and underground mine development.
  • Develop Work Breakdown and Project Coding Structures for control and integrity of work defined by the contract.
  • Develop totally integrated engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) schedules.
  • Perform what-if schedule scenarios, advanced schedule analysis, and variance analysis reports.
  • Analyze variances in schedule performance against the plan, and communicate the reasons for the issuance of variance and proposed mitigation plans to Project Management.
  • As a construction planner – analyze schedule, review delays, propose schedule recovery alternatives and presents them to internal groups as well as the client.
  • Provide Constructability input to the plan and schedule.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Job Requirements

  • Accredited four (4) year degree, Mine Technician degree preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience with planning/scheduling for large mining projects in the EPC environment required.
  • At least 1 start to finish Shaft Construction experience or previous experience in combination of soft rock underground mine construction and shaft construction would be an asset.
  • Assigned to office during planning phase, available for rotation work once construction begins.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in Primavera P6.
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
